Dermal Fillers

What is it ?

Dermal Filler is not only able to fix and fill wrinkles but also can modify the irregularities or asymmetry, lack of definition and structure, or revolumise the hollowness under the eyes. There are different kinds of applications and types of dermal fillers that can also improve facial features, smooth out deep lines and wrinkles and restore the lost volume for a more defined or youthful looking.

Dermal Fillers can address many common aesthetic concerns including deep wrinkles, small and thin lips, hollows of the face, tear trough, and irregularities of the nose.

What Does Dermal Filler Treat ?

  • Sunken facial areas: hollow in the temple, tear trough, uneven forehead, sunken cheeks, etc.
  • Sagging skin or loss of volume: cheek, lower mandible, thin lips, nasolabial folds etc.
  • The imperfection of facial features, e.g. receding chin, low nose bridge, thin lips, flat cheekbones, and crooked nose.
  • Wrinkles: forehead wrinkles, smile lines, static wrinkles, lip lines, marionette lines.
  • Atrophic scars: such as acne scars.

The Advantages of Dermal Filler

  • Safety: a hyaluronic acid dermal filler is an extremely safe – just one injection into the dermis, thereby greatly reducing any associated surgical risk.
  • Reversibility: hyaluronic acid dermal fillers will be broken down by the skin slowly. After metabolism by the body, the injected areas will return to their natural state. If you are unsatisfied with the results of the injection, an enzyme can also be injected to quickly break down the hyaluronic acids.
  • Comfortability and quick: the Dermal Filler treatment usually only takes 30 minutes – a lunch break procedure. And an anaesthetic cream will be applied onto the injected areas to reduce any discomfort during the treatment.
  • Natural and immediate effects: Whether filling out wrinkles or building a defined face contour, the results of the hyaluronic acid dermal filler are immediate and very natural administrating by our experienced practitioners.

What does the dermal filler treatment involve ?

Before your Dermal Filler treatment, we will arrange a free consultation to access your concerns and discuss your desired goals. The consultant will tailor a treatment plan based on your needs and goals. A topical anaesthesia cream can be applied before the injection. The practitioner will access the treatment area and discuss the result with you before the injection. During the treatment, you will feel a very slight scratch of the needle injected to the skin, which it could be minor discomfort. A follow-up review can be arranged if needed.

How does dermal filler work ?

We use only hyaluronic acid fillers during this treatment. Hyaluronic acids naturally exist in the dermis and are important to help the skin with moisture. In Dermal Filler injection, hyaluronic acid molecules are injected as a filler into the dermis which results in an immediately visible effect.

Hyaluronic acids have a strong absorption and moisturising capacity which exist naturally in our skin to maintain moisture while consolidating elastin and collagen to maintain the skin’s elasticity. Yet as the skin ages and with the results of sun damage, our natural hyaluronic acids are gradually lost, much like collagen. This causes the skin to become dry and creates wrinkles, fine lines, sagging and volume loss in the skin, etc.

The process works by injecting hyaluronic acid dermal filler into the skin. Much like how a building needs foundations, this process of ‘filling’ the skin can be used to smooth out the wrinkles and create a fuller and younger appearance. This is accompanied by a restoration of lost hyaluronic acids to the skin and filling out wrinkles, as well as creating beautiful facial features.

Immediately after injection, you can see the improvement.
