Enhance your appearance with fuller lips to complement your natural features

LIP FILLERS SHOULD NOT FEEL ANY DIFFERENT FROM NATURAL LIPS WHEN CARRIED OUT BY A LEADING AESTHETIC SPECIALIST SUCH AS DR. CULBARD
Full lips are often desirable. Some of us will naturally have thin lips and many will lose fullness as we age.
For some thinner lips suit our faces perfectly well, for others fuller lips could enhance our appearance and complement our features.
FAQs – It’s ok to ask for more information – you’re in expert hands!
But please also remember that Dr. Culbard will cover all of this and more during your consultation and any subsequent treatment.
How does it work?
Dr. Culbard provides lip enhancement and lip augmentation using hyaluronic acid based dermal fillers to enhance the shape and volume of the lips: giving a balanced and natural looking fullness. Part of the ageing process means fullness can be lost as we grow older, fillers can be used to enhance and restore the fullness lost.
Am I suitable?
Dr. Culbard typically treats both upper and lower lips to avoid an unnatural look, always striving for lips to look full but natural without creating the notorious ‘trout-pout’ that are frequently seen on celebrities who have had their lips overdone. As long as you are not pregnant or breastfeeding then a Lip Enhancement or Augmentation treatment is completely suitable for you!
Does it hurt?
Your chosen area to improve will be numbed with a local topical anaesthetic cream to reduce discomfort. The treatment requires no downtime, however, you may experience minimal swelling and bruising in the area in the first few days following the treatment. Using arnica gel gently will assist with rapid healing.
How long does it take?
Lip Enhancement fillers take on average 30 minutes to administer but can last up to 12 months which is one of the many aspects that make them such a popular treatment. The filler is gradually reabsorbed by the body hence why treatments need to be topped up. Dr. Culbard recommends that patients repeat their treatment after a year to maintain the results that lip fillers can provide.
How safe is it?
Potential risks vary depending on the specific filler used and who is carrying out the procedure, Dermal fillers are considered a safe procedure but only if administered by a certified dermatologist or aesthetic surgeon. You are more likely to experience adverse side effects if your injections are carried out by an inexperienced and untrained therapist. And remember to wait until you have finished breast feeding or after pregnancy to undertake this procedure.
Dr. Culbard favours TEOSYAL RHA® which is designed to provide patients with great results. He also recommends the use of skin smoothing injections to enhance the lips further, used to reduce the lines above the upper lips – both of which are very safe treatments in the hands of the right clinician.

The team at Soprano Ice Edinburgh pride themselves on providing the highest standard of customer care and always listening to client needs and expectations.
