The clocks are changing, and that means lighter mornings! I don’t know about you, but I’m very ready for some more sunlight in my life.

We all know a good morning prepares you for a great day. Creating a personalised morning ritual will promote good health and a centred feeling which will carry you through the day – and now’s a great time to start!

Here are five components of a healthy morning routine.

1. Wake Up Early

Set your alarm early enough to allow for a morning ritual full of self care. If you start your day right, you’ll feel ready to face any challenges that may be thrown at you.

2. Stretch

Take a few moments to do some basic stretches. We don’t move much in our sleep and this can bring on cramping. Stretching also helps our bodies to release waste and stress, and prepares the body and mind for the day ahead.

3. A Cup Of Morning Matcha!

Hailed for its health benefits for over 1000 years in Japan, Matcha green tea is higher in antioxidants than almost any other food. These high levels of antioxidants have numerous benefits in every organ system in the body. Matcha is recognised to boost energy levels, improve concentration and immune function, and help detoxify the body.

4. A Nutritious Breakfast

A nutritious breakfast sets you up for the day. Don’t skip it, in fact, create time for it. Lay the table, enjoy the process of preparing it. Take time to savour each mouthful, and that feeling of being unrushed.

5. Apply A Good Moisturiser

Let the self care carry through into a morning skincare routine that includes applying a good moisturiser. You already know the physical benefits of this, but mentally, taking time with a routine and knowing you are looking after yourself can do wonders for your state of mind too.
