Botox Edinburgh

1. Thin lips

Filler can be used to enhance your lips appearance. As we age our lips will lose fullness and some of us just have naturally thin lips. With the use of  hyaluronic acid based dermal fillers the shape and volume of the lips can be enhanced, giving a balanced and natural looking fullness. Part of the ageing process means fullness can be lost as we grow older, fillers can be used to enhance and restore the fullness lost. Dr Jack would typically treat both upper and lower lips to avoid an unnatural look, always striving for lips to look full but natural without creating the notorious ‘trout-pout’ that is frequently seen on celebrities who had their lips overdone.

Elemis Biotec

2.  Wrinkles around the eyes

There are a couple of options to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles around your eyes.
The therapeutic approach would be a course of Elemis Biotec Facials, either Line Eraser or Firm-a-lift Facial. These treatments will target both the area around the eye and rejuvenate the skin which will help reduce the appearance of fine lines. To see maximum benefits we would recommend treatment twice weekly for 5 weeks.

Botox is the second option. Botulinum toxin A or ‘Botox’ injections can help reduce the signs of ageing by reducing the appearance of wrinkles. Botox works by relaxing the facial muscles and over time the skin looks smoother and more youthful. Botox usually lasts between 3 and 6 months, treatments can then be repeated to maintain the effects. With repeat treatments the effects can last longer.

3. Thin/poorly defined brows

There are a couple of options available to help enhance the appearance of  your  natural brows.

High Definition Brows also know as HD Brows involves threading and plucking to achieve the perfect shape of brow for your face. A tint is applied to your brows which can be neutralised at any point during the developing stage so the perfect shade can be achieved without the worry of them going too dark. This helps enhance your brows and give a more defined look.

The second option is Semi-Permanent Make up. SPMU is a cosmetic technique which involves tattooing the skin using pigments to produce designs that resemble makeup such as eyeliner and lipstick. The technique can also be used to create artificial eyebrows, this is particularly desirable for people who have reduced brow coverage as a consequence of old age, medical conditions and treatments such as alopecia, chemotherapy or just due to over tweezing.

The effects last anywhere between 1-5 years with recommended refresh treatments from 12 mths – 18mths. The long lasting effects of this treatment make it very cost effective for clients.
